We launched the JMDA Student Mentor Programme in November 2024 and welcomed applications from our Inter and Senior students in Year 9 and above.

Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I would really like to help younger children to develop their dancing skills, help them with their co-ordination, be supportive of them and encourage them to help build their confidence not only in dance but in their everyday lives too.

Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I wanted to be JMDA mentor because I have a passion for dance and would love to share all the amazing things that I have learnt throughout my time at JMDA with the younger students. Being part of the JMDA family has really helped me grow in confidence over the years as I have been surrounded by supportive teachers and friends and I would love to be able to be part of someone else’s journey to help them nurture their creativity and enthusiasm for dance, encourage them to enjoy what they do and feel like they belong.

Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I am currently in the early stages of completing the Childcare Extended Diploma course which will allow me to obtain a Level 3 Childcare qualification. Being a student mentor will help me to gain more experience which will aid to bettering me in future placements and jobs. I also thoroughly enjoy working closely with children and helping to support them throughout their years and development.

Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I wanted to be a JMDA Student Mentor as dance is one of the most important parts of my life and I would like to share my love for dance with younger students. When I was a Junior dancer I looked up to the older girls in JMDA and wanted to be like them. I would love to be able to give encouragement, support and guidance to younger dancers and help develop their skills.

Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I enjoy helping others and feeling like I’m making a difference. Being part of something important like mentoring gives me a sense of responsibility and fulfilment. Dance has become a big part of my life, and I feel I’ve improved a lot, so I want to share what I’ve learned to help others grow too. I also see it as a chance to build my confidence and continue developing personally.

I would like to pass on everything JMDA has given to me over the years. I’d like to be able to help the students develop their skills while building a fun relationship with them. Why I Wanted To Be A Student Mentor:
I would love to be a part of developing a child’s passion for dance and to help them improve their skills which will improve their confidence and make them the best dancer they can be. I aim to encourage and guide the dancers to make them feel that they are the best versions of themselves that they can be.
